For the 97th Academy Awards, the acclaimed film The Seed of the Sacred Fig by Mohammad Rasoulof achieved a historic milestone with its nomination for Best International Feature Film. On this prestigious global stage, lead actress Mahsa Rostami graced the red carpet wearing a striking bespoke creation by us, amplifying global awareness of women’s ongoing fight for justice and freedom in Iran.

The dress is designed with a corset inspired by Persian carpet patterns. It bridges the gap between antique heritage and the present day, reimagined through innovative digital tools as a graphic design medium.

The silk cady and silk organza textiles are digitally manipulated according to the designer's vision to create a pixelated graphic, featuring innovative velvet motifs cut with a laser and applied via thermo fusion.

Beyond its striking aesthetic, this garment carries a profound narrative of resilience and community. The gown was entirely handcrafted in collaboration with Centro Milano Donna 9.
